Dear Neighbours,

For the last 9 years, it has been our privilege to serve the families of Kirkland Lake for their funeral, cremation, pre-planning and monument needs. We have always taken extra care and attention to support our client families during their time of need.
After Patricia and I met we looked to purchase a funeral home in Northern Ontario. When we came to Kirkland Lake to see the funeral home and get a feel for the community, we were instantly sure that this would be our home and the community to raise a family. We have made good friends here, we can get anywhere in town quickly and it is always nice to see familiar faces wherever we go.
At its peak, in the 80’s and 90’s the funeral home served approximately 250 families a year. Given the drop in population, same day services and cremations, we now serve the funeral or cremation needs of significantly less. The current facility is starting to see its age and was built to suit the needs of families from 21 years ago. As such, it would be a large undertaking for us to completely renovate such a large premises that we are currently in and continue to pay the high taxes and utility bills. All this has made it necessary for us to move to a location that is more conducive to the current funeral needs of our community. This will allow us to offer services we do not currently offer in a brand new, modern facility that can accommodate not just funeral services, but a whole range of other celebrations.  The new facility will have three large visitation/celebration rooms, a large chapel, monitors throughout the building that show life tributes with photos, and will have a warm, welcoming feel. The premises will be fully wheelchair accessible and there will be ample parking for approximately 65 vehicles.
We are proud of the new facility that we are building for our community. We hope that you will embrace our new facility and make it a place where we can all come together to celebrate each other and our lives here in Northern Ontario.

Your friends,
Patricia and Glen French
